Trunk-or-Treat Scheduled for Oct. 31
By Cassidy Stacken on October 19, 2017
Trunk-or-Treat occurs when local businesses set up booths or trunks and hand out candy to elementary students. Businesses decorate their trunks festively to attract trunk-or-treaters.
The Diamond Care Center is holding the Trunk-or-Treat in their parking lot at 1:00 p.m. in Bridgewater Oct. 31.
“Trunk-or-Treat is awesome and everyone gets a lot of good candy. I like that the decorations are usually creepy and that I get to spend time with my friends while I’m there,” 6th grader Tucker Stacken said.
The Diamond Care Center has sponsored the Trunk-or-Treat for three years now. Elementary students really seem to enjoy going each year.
“I love having the students participate in the trunk-or-treat,” B-E’s first-grade teacher Steph Marquardt said, “I think it’s a great way for them to trick-or-treat safely and get a good amount of candy. It’s also a lot of fun for them to be able to dress up and show off their costumes. It’s very organized and something the residents look forward to every year.”
The purpose of Trunk-or-Treat is to let elementary students Trick or Treat in a safe environment, interact with residents and get to know people from the local business in the area.
For some children, Trunk-or-Treat is the only trick-or-treating they can participate in and is a great way for children to get a head start on Halloween candy in a safe way.
