Starting the Christmas Spirit
December 11, 2018
Bridgewater-Emery middle and high school held their Christmas concert Friday, Dec 7. The band and chorus worked hard to prepare a relaxing enjoyable music.
The high school chorus performed Christmas Baby and Mary Did You Know Along with signing This Christmas and Hallelujah acapella. During the song of Christmas Baby Katrina Vansickle and Ashley Waldner sang a duet.
“I was pretty nervous at first, but then I practiced more and it helped me gain more confidence in myself,” sophomore Katrina VanSickle said. “It also helped when people told me I was a good singer.”
The Middle school band performed Let the Christmas Season Begin, Yule Play the Classics and The Gift of Christmas along with the high school performing Celtic Bell Carol, Holly and the Ivy and In the Bleak Midwinter.
“The bands worked very hard over the last few weeks,” band director Tim Zorr, who is new to BE this year, said. “A lot of students stepped up and practiced extra to prepare for their performance. I am really proud of how all of the band members pulled together and put on a great show for our audience. Some that music was pretty tricky, but they did a nice job.”
Holiday goodies were also sold before and after the concert to raise money for after-prom.
