Seahawks Advance to the Final Round of Playoffs

Bridgewater-Emery/Ethan Seahawks moved past the Mobridge-Pollock Tigers 47-6 Thursday, Oct. 25th to advance to the final round of playoffs.
“Offensively we did a great job of moving the ball and scoring early on them,” senior Jamin Arend said. “Penalties hurt us in the second quarter on defense. We need to continue to play aggressive and smart football as we move on.”
During the first quarter, the Seahawks’ Jamin Arend scored a touchdown on a nine-yard run, the kick was good by junior Brady Hawkins. Jamin Arend progressed for a 27-yard run, PAT was good by Hawkins making the score 14-0. Throughout the second quarter, Jamin Arend had a two-yard run, kick by Hawkins was no good. The Tigers’ linebacker, Noah Feyereisen caught a 66-yard pass from quarterback Cayden Halsey, PAT by Feyereisen was no good. To finish the first half, Jamin Arend had a one-yard run, kick by Hawkins was no good. The score going into halftime was 26-6 in favor of the Seahawks.
“It was a great game and a confidence booster to move on in the playoffs. We played well defensively and offensively,” sophomore Rylee Schultz said. “I can’t wait to see what next week’s game has in store for us.”
In the second half, the Seahawks scored three more touchdowns all in the fourth quarter. Junior Grant Andrews ran in a two-yard touchdown, PAT failed for the first touchdown. Jamin Arend advanced an 11-yard run, the kick was good by Hawkins and sophomore Bodie Burnham ran in a four-yard touchdown, two-point conversion good by freshman Koby Kayser. The final score was 47-6 in favor of the Seahawks.
Hawkins led the Seahawks with 77 passing yards and 6 tackles. Jamin Arend added 182 rushing yards, and junior Chase Arend had 33 receiving yards. As a team, the Seahawks had 390 yards on 67 plays. Defensively, Rylee Schultz had 11 tackles, Andrews added 9 tackles.
The victory made the Seahawks advance to the final round of playoffs against Mount Vernon/ Plankinton.
