How the "You Got Caught Wall" has Impacted B-E
By Cassidy Stacken on October 27, 2017
You got caught, but what did you get caught for? The answer is simple, you were caught doing something positive, going above and beyond for someone, making an improvement in school goals and actions or practicing and improving the weekly life skills our school is focusing on.
The staff members each have been given one gold star for the You Got Caught wall. When they want to make the recognition public, they fill out one of the stars with the student’s name and the action they are being recognized for and hang it on the wall.
Students can also participate, but they need to get a star from a staff member and have a staff member hang it on the wall, too. The You Got Caught wall has had a significant impact on students and staff members.
“It recognizes the student body for positive behavior and impacts the school in a positive manor,” Jessie VanLeur said.
The wall has impacted the student body since it started in the school. The students have been working hard to get their name on the wall and to improve their attitude in the school environment. This way, the students can show their peers and teachers what they have done and how it has helped them improve. The student body has dramatically changed over the 6 weeks that the school has been doing the You Got Caught wall.
“Everyone has something they want to get on the wall for or think that they need to be on it for “I feel I should be on the wall because I am always nice to people even if I get a star or not I am still nice to people,” Mady Leithieser said, “The [wall] encourages everyone to be nicer to people.”
The You Got Caught wall is a very effective way for the student body to help be better in school and in society.
