Both the girls’ and boys’ basketball team traveled to Forestburg for a doubleheader against the Sanborn Central/Woonsocket Blackhawks. Both the boys’ and girls’ team defeated the Blackhawks. The boys won 74-36 and the girls 55-44.

“I thought playing and defeating the Blackhawks was a good experience for us because it pushes us to make good decisions when it really matters,” freshman Julia Weber stated, “I think having close games betters us as players by making us smarter and winning this game just makes a point that we can pull off close games.”
Stats for the girls consisted of senior Abigal Arend with 18 points, followed by sophomore Kerrigan Schultz with 16 points and six rebounds. Julia Weber pitched in 15 points and six rebounds, as well. Her sister, junior Kennedee Weber, added six points and six rebounds. Senior Jada Wethor helped the Lady Huskies with six rebounds.
The boys started out the game a little slow but continuing to fight before they started up to their normal game speed. Throughout the game, the Huskies kept pushing forth allowing them to defeat the Blackhawks by almost 40 points.
“We played really well defensively in the second half with them not scoring in the fourth quarter,” junior Jonah Hofer said, “As long as we keep doing our own job and continuing to improve our game, we should be hard to beat."
Senior Sawyer Schultz led the team offensively with 20 points nine assists and defensively with 14 rebounds. Junior Chase Arend pitched in 19 points, seven steals and six rebounds, while junior Jonah Hofer added 17 points for the Huskies.
