By Joslyn Schrank on February 8, 2018
Both the girls’ and boys’ basketball teams from Bridgewater-Emery had an exciting Saturday, Feb. 3. All four teams took wins in the Corn Palace. It was an exciting night for the Huskie boys as they welcomed back senior Cole Gassman from an ACL tear in the 2017 football season. Before the game Saturday against Gregory, the boys’ record was 11-3 and the girls’ record was 7-9.
“As I stepped out onto the court Saturday evening, I knew all of the hard work and dedication in the gym had paid off. It was definitely a difficult obstacle to overcome, but when I stepped out onto the court, I was glad to be back on the court with my boys,” Gassman said.
Girls’ junior varsity started off the evening with a win, and then the boys’ junior varsity followed with a win as well.
To start off the varsity games, the girls competed first. Sophomore Kennedee Weber jumped which allowed the Huskies to get first possession of the ball. Junior Abigal Arend added 18 points along with freshman Kerrigan Schultz with nine points, five rebounds, four assists and three steals.
